Feats of Clay Pottery Studio

I have decided to add a page of "vases".  Under this catagory just about anything can be displayed.  Vessels and vases, they are just about the same thing.  Its all poetry and pottery to me.  I think I just might have to add a page just for mugs.  Remove "other vessels" from my mug page.  When I started my website, I didn't have very many pictures of my pottery in the digital mode.  I had taken pictures of all my pottery with a 35mm camera and film.  Now that I am involved with a website, I am taking pictures with a digital camera.  The more pictures I take, the more pages on my website.  The more pots I make, the more pictures I take and the more pages I need on my website.  I have so many pictures and so many more pieces of pottery that I can and should have a page devoted just to one type of item.

About the Images

I have tried to capture the essence of my pottery pieces in picture form.  It is very hard.  Pottery is the type of item that needs to be touched. Pieces of pottery need to be caressed, stroked and fondled.  It is a very physical medium.  You have just got to touch the clay when you throw a pot or handbuild a piece.  You have just got to touch the bisqued piece, smooth down the rough edges before you glaze a piece.  You have just got to touch the glazed, finished piece.  There is no getting around that physical "touchy feeling" of a piece of pottery. Pottery is a very tactile medium.  And I just love it.
